Job Summary Wondros is seeking a director to manage paid, earned, and owned social media strategy. In this role, you will take over the planning, management, and optimization of client campaigns, while being the main liaison for creatives, third-party vendors, and clients. Your commitment to the highest levels of service coupled with an organized, professional approach to work will see you thrive in this position. As a director on our strategy team, you will play a critical role in paving our client's path forward providing strategic leadership on the full media mix. You'll act as a strategic thought leader and trusted advisor to client counterparts and represent the voice of the client. You will lead the Wondros social media team to increase engagement and strengthen affinity across all platforms. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and analytical social media expert with a proven track record of driving performance and inspiring engagement. The role is charged with leading the strategy, ideation, and execution of social content and strategy. The right candidate will be social first' in their thinking, understanding that brands must engage their own audiences effectively before they can scale brand storytelling. Key Responsibilities Designing and continuously evolving a social media strategy that grows Authentic brand affinity, engagement, reach, audience and, as a result, conversion Managing the social strategy execution for campaigns, content, and projects Working closely with the marketing and communications teams, ensuring social is thoughtfully factored into partnerships and campaigns Measuring results and reporting on social campaign performance Leading the analysis of qualitative and quantitative social data Identifying and implementing software tools Reviewing target audience performance and strategizing new targeting tactics Recommending tactics to optimize content Developing guidelines around posting cadence Managing a team of two to three direct reports who execute daily posting, manage a content calendar, and engage with all community conversation Managing the social media team budget and resourcing Reporting on and reacting to all developments in the digital landscape Collaborating closely with other business peers to participate in, and actively contribute to, organizational strategic planning and major initiatives Act as a catalyst for communications planning thinking within the media team Collaborate with Wondros strategic team to craft an integrated communications plan Be the connective tissue between the client's business strategy, the creative agency's brand strategy, and Wondros media strategy Bring big consumer/cultural insights that drive bigger context strategies for clients vision Be the bridge between strong, conceptual thinking, and data-driven, analytical approaches to problem-solving Form a dynamic duo with the creative team, media planning, marketing science, and custom content experts on your team (much like art directors and copywriters pair-up in creative agencies) Bring your track record of data-centric thinking to every integrated client brief, which will outline creative and media requirements and objectives Required Qualifications 10 years of experience leading social/digital marketing, with proven examples of strategies developed for well-known brands in the social media space
5 years of supervisory experience and mentoring social media teams Experience leading and developing social-only or social-at-the-core projects Experience managing a multi-office social strategy team in a digital agency or marketing environment A strategic understanding of business with the ability to connect business challenges and social strategy/tactics Experience working with influencers and social partners to increase reach Strong knowledge in paid social media Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively, proactively, and seamlessly with a large team Fluency in data, and a proven record of infusing data into activation ideas and plans Superior presentation and communication skills, with experience presenting to Senior and VP-level executives Strong storytelling skills with the ability to communicate complex strategic campaign concepts in streamlined, logical, and well-designed decks Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment Familiarity with native analytics and insights tools (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) Fluency in social measurement tools including but not limited to social listening (Listen First), social analytics (Google Analytics, Trackmaven, Curalate, Tailwind, etc.) Understanding of media principles, media planning fundamentals and how media is bought and a thorough understanding of marketing communication channels (including digital) Proven analytical, strategic thinking and, communication skills and a high level of competency in account management and client service
