Planner Senior Transportation
Up to $73,581 annually

As a Transportation Planner, you will provide professional planning support and analysis to various areas of the Office of Transportation System Management related to asset management, performance measures, and capital investments. This includes development of the 20-year State Highway Investment Plan, the Transportation Asset Management Plan, the 10-year Capital Highway Investment Plan and other related planning studies, capital programs, and performance reports. This position carries out research, analysis, and outreach in support of agency initiatives to advance performance-based planning, performance measurement, investment analysis, and other transportation planning and programming subjects.
This position requires occasional travel to and from various work sites for meeting and conferences. The incumbent is responsible for arranging their own transportation.

A Bachelor's degree in Planning, Policy, Geography, Urban Studies, Political Science or a closely related field plus two years professional planning experience that demonstrates the following OR three years professional planning experience that demonstrates the following:
(*NOTE: A Master's degree in Planning, Policy, Geography, Urban Studies, Political Science or a closely related field may substitute for one year of professional planning experience)
•Knowledge of the theory and practice of performance-based transportation planning;
•Knowledge of the use of performance measures;
•Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
•Human relations skills sufficient to establish effective working relationships with others and to work as a member of an interdisciplinary and/or intergovernmental team.
