Working Title: Human Services Support Specialist (Certified Nursing Assistant)

This announcement will be used to fill multiple part time, benefit eligible, rotating shift Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) vacancies at the Forensic Nursing Home in St. Peter. The rotating shift includes day and evening hours. Schedules include weekend work hours.
As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, the CNA provides direct care, treatment, support, and leisure activities to residents of the Forensic Nursing Home. Day-to-day responsibilities of this position include:
The CNA observes, interprets and documents resident responses to their care plans; and provides direct care services and support to residents to ensure they are well fed, cared for, in good health, and included in decisions, as appropriate. The CNA uses nonphysical intervention strategies, such as negotiation, redirection, etc., to control and diffuse aggressive/ violent/ inappropriate behavior. The CNA has knowledge of developmental disabilities and mental illness sufficient to assist with the design and implementation of individual treatment plans and has skills in human relations sufficient to establish rapport with residents, their families and service providers.
