The Sustainability Division is looking for a Sustainability Contract Administrator to provide contractual and program support for key DEN initiatives such as Energy Performance Contracting, renewable energy projects, battery energy projects, and other sustainability projects, and to be responsible for timely payment of all DEN utility bills (electricity, solar, natural gas, water, and sewer). Job duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Administer sustainability contracts and projects, including existing solar Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), new solar PPAs, Community Solar Gardens, Xcel Renewable*Connect, Energy Performance Contracting, Community Resiliency Initiative, and Sustainability task-based contracts
  • Track and analyze utility bills and usage to understand trends and help identify anomalies
  • Use historical data and technical expertise to forecast future utility usage and cost
  • Prepare management reports and dashboards on utility usage and cost drivers
  • Support utility project rebate applications, processing, and tracking
  • Monitor progress of energy projects against project plans, report on variances, and assist with developing and implementing corrective actions
  • Help develop proposals for new, cost-effective renewable energy, energy efficiency, and resiliency initiatives, including collecting data, performing basic energy and financial calculations, and researching new technologies and suppliers
  • Provide professional-level business cases, analysis, and implementation support for airport-wide sustainability initiatives
About You

We are looking for candidates with some or all the following skills and experience:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present to and learn from diverse audiences
  • Results-oriented, self-driven to contribute to a high performing team
  • Experience adapting to setbacks and changes in work assignments and ways of doing work
  • Knowledge of various types of contracts, techniques for contracting or procurement, and contract negotiation and administration
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization from field personnel to management

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience performing contract negotiation, contract administration, or conducting research and analysis in an area such as budget, compliance issues, or accounting
  • Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
  • Licenses: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application


FBI Background Check: FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.

Snow / Emergency Duties: Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts.
