A Management Analyst II job is available with the City of Fort Worth Development Services Department in their Finance and Administration Support Services Section. This position will be responsible for developing business processes to ensure financial data recorded in the permitting system is accurate and in compliance with financial directives.

Additionally, this position will be responsible for assisting with tracking and reporting of capital projects, serve as backup for our Purchasing SME and will assist with revenue and operating budget analysis. The successful candidate should have financial management, process improvement and project management experience with some technical aptitude to work with the IT department in developing reports/queries.

The Management Analyst II job responsibilities include:
  • Develop business processes to enhance efficiency for financial data recorded in the City-wide permitting system.
  • Assist with budget development and revenue trends analysis.
  • Track and ensure accuracy of financial data for approximately capital projects.
  • Work with IT to develop queries and reports for extracting financially relevant data from the city-wide permitting system.
  • Conduct special projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the analysis of processes, procedures, operations, systems or methods, including experience in the functional area of assignment such as budget/financial management, research analysis or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively (both written and oral) with internal and external stakeholders, including internal fiscal/finance staff, IT staff, budget staff, Customer Service/Building Services staff and outside departments.
  • Knowledge of advanced principles of municipal budget preparation, research and trend analysis.
  • Knowledge of enterprise financial, budgeting and purchasing systems such as PeopleSoft ERP and Hyperion.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills using Microsoft Word and Excel (creating simple to complex formulas, pivot tables, and linking worksheets and other related data).
  • Knowledge of lean-six sigma/process improvement skills.

Conditions of Employment

Candidates who do not meet the Education requirement, may be considered if they have more relevant work experience than the position requires.
