Job Description and Duties
SENIOR PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) - NORTH COAST REDWOODS DISTRICT / EEL RIVER SECTOR
Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKS recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKS eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKS program).
The Senior Park Aide reporting location is at 1600 US Hwy 101, Garberville, CA 95542, Richardson Grove State Park.
This position will work under the supervision of the Supervising State Park Peace Officer.
A Visitor Services Senior Park Aide leads and trains seasonal Park Aides in Kiosk operation; prepares routine reports and accounting documents for fees collected; checks park facilities and reports problems; answers routine questions from the public; inspects completed work for quality control and conformance to established standards.
Senior Park Aides must be able to work independently; follow instructions; establish and maintain cooperative relations with the general public and other employees; evaluate problems and take corrective action; and provide leadership. Applicants must have one thousand hours of experience in park operations in a position equivalent to a seasonal Visitor Services Park Aide or one year of experience conducting educational programs, recreational programs, or conducting public service programs.
This position requires a valid California Driver’s License. Please provide proof of eligibility with application.
