POSITION SUMMARY The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Children's Minnesota is seeking a fellowship trained Neuropathologist to join a multi-specialty hospital-based pathology group. Due to the rapid growth of our neurosurgery service this is a prime opportunity for the successful candidate to play a pivotal role in the success of this program. Excellent communication and leadership abilities are essential for this role. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Children's Minnesota receives approximately 10,000 surgical and cytology specimens and processes nearly 1 million laboratory tests per year. We have a very collegial and collaborative work environment and enjoy a close consultative relationship with all clinical and surgical services. Our service currently averages 100 - 150 complex cases annually and is expected to grow significantly over the next 2-3 years following the recent opening of our new, state of the art, iMRI neurosurgical suite on the Minneapolis campus. Participation in neuropathology consultation for our active autopsy service encouraged. The group currently includes 6 pathologists, 2 physicians who oversee transfusion medicine services, a full-time pathologists' assistant and an excellent histology staff. Current subspecialty coverage includes pediatric pathology, clinical microbiology, molecular pathology and hematopathology. Qualifications
