We are currently seeking an industry leader specializing in air compliance to serve as a Senior Technical Expert/Principal Consultant to work in a leadership role with highly skilled professionals. The ideal candidate brings significant consulting experience and client relationships to provide team development, management, strategic direction, and cutting-edge technical support to grow our practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced air compliance expert looking to advance their career with a leading national, privately-held, professional services and consulting company. This is a full-time position located in Raleigh NC, Charlotte NC, or Greenville SC. Other locations or a remote role may be considered for the right candidate.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:

  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary project team across nationwide company offices and client/project locations
  • Assist clients with developing and executing air compliance programs and plans.
  • Prepare proposals, project technical reports/deliverables, and regulatory compliance submissions.
  • Oversee the technical execution of air dispersion modeling, air permitting, and compliance projects
  • Stay abreast of air regulatory compliance changes and prepare/share regulatory developments with company compliance team members.
  • Understand client needs and build and maintain trusted client relationships.
  • Coordinate with client representatives, and regulatory and external stakeholders.
  • Execute projects to meet technical, quality, budgetary, and scheduling requirements.
  • Support strategic business/action plan, provide leadership, and staff development to grow Haley & Aldrich’s air and environmental compliance business.
  • Capitalize on existing client relationships to expand H&A’s profile and market share through exceptional technical delivery and program & project management.
  • Develop a working understanding of H&A’s other consulting practice areas and actively support marketing other, additional services to existing clients.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • BS in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or related discipline; MS degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of relevant professional services consulting experience.
  • Professional registration (PE) required.
  • Advanced knowledge of the local regulatory landscape and proven negotiation skills with federal, state and local regulators.
  • Recognized technical expertise in air quality permitting and compliance by the marketplace. Experience with additional environmental compliance and reporting programs is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in promoting and leading a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be proficient at leading the writing, review, and editing of technical deliverables to meet scope and quality objectives and client expectations.
  • Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in industry standard software. Experience with AERMOD, CALPUFF and CMAQ a plus.
  • OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER preferred.
