Job Summary *Safety Support Specialists may be eligible for a hiring incentive for up to $2500* This posting may be used to fill multiple full-time vacancies that are rotating, evening, and night shifts Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center (AMRTC) has opportunities for you to join our team as a State of Minnesota employee. We seek applicants with a positive attitude and strong work ethic, who are ready to share our dedication to the people we serve. AMRTC is an inpatient psychiatric hospital serving adults with mental illness in a large, campus-based setting. The population also includes individuals civilly committed for specialized care, such as competency for criminal court (Rule 20), emergency 48-hour bed holds, and co-occurring mental illness/chemical dependency. Located just 15 minutes north of the Twin Cities metro, this modern facility offers compassionate, person-centered care in a pleasant environment appreciated by patients and employees alike. As a Safety Support Specialist at AMRTC, you will promote patient and staff safety by continuous monitoring and evaluation of the care environment on patient units and throughout the hospital, response to and de-escalation of challenging patient interactions, and delivery of training and skill development for employees. Essential tools of this role include critical thinking, behavioral intervention, and crisis negotiation. Our staff also take pride in contributing to patient recovery by ensuring all communication and interaction occurs with the utmost respect, integrity and confidentiality. Job duties include:
