Overview
Under the direction of the Assistant Controller, the Accounting Operations Specialist will play a critical role in supporting IQT’s finance and accounting operations. This multifaceted role encompasses elements of the following accounting functional areas, among others: accounts payable, international finance, and financial compliance. This role will significantly contribute to the overall success of IQT’s financial operations, by facilitating collaboration seamlessly within the finance and accounting team, and in close partnership with other operating departments.
Responsibilities
- Process payables, with an emphasis on investment portfolio company invoices, through Corpay by verifying all details against supporting documentation, obtaining necessary approvals, accurately recording expenses, and then posting in Sage Intacct.
- Prepare vendor payments through ACH, wire transfers, or checks, and verbally confirm bank details.
- Collaborate with purchasing and other departments to support operating payables, reconcile monthly corporate card charges, prepare credit card payments, and post activity to Sage Intacct.Assist with processing and paying international payroll and other payroll related payments.
- Assist with monthly financial closings and year-end audits which includes general ledger and bank reconciliations, and journal entry preparation.
- Execute various compliance tasks such as:
- Prepare and file Miscellaneous 1099 forms.
- Assist with international and domestic sales tax filings.
- Prepare and file county business tangible property tax reconciliations.
- International compliance (Appendix 4 Reporting, Business Activity Summary (BAS), Fringe Benefit Tax Returns, P11D Filing).
- Internal reporting and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting or related field.
- Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Sage Intacct and Corpay a plus.
- Experience with international accounting, including understanding of different tax regulations (a plus).
- Familiarity with payroll processing and tax in at least one country (a plus).
- Strong ethics, reliability, dependability, efficiency, and sense of urgency to complete tasks and projects on time.
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be self-directed with an upbeat can-do attitude, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A dynamic team player with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively, contribute to a positive team environment, and build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
