Samtec is seeking a Test Technician for our facility in Colorado Springs. This is a second shift position.Hours are Monday through Friday 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
The hourly range for this position is $20.00 to $25.00 per hour plus shift differential and applicable bonuses and is commensurate with experience.Samtec mayconsider internal candidates based on core skills versus direct experience, but with the understanding that the associate would need to be developed into the role and that rate would be adjusted gradually into the range based on the growth trajectory.Standard benefit offerings available are medical (HSA/PPO), dental, vision, group life, AD&D, short and long term disability, PTO, vacation, EAP, 401k, other voluntary options along with a collaborative work environment and supportive company culture.
The DC Test Technicianwill be expected to operate, maintain, and coordinate Optics assembly and testing processes. This is a hands-on position which requires processing orders, preparing test samples, collecting test and process characterization data. This position will work closely with our engineering group to develop/refine test and assembly processes.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities
  1. Operates, maintains testers and related support equipment with minimal engineering direction.
  2. Read and interpret test results.
  3. Assists with managing production work flow through.
  4. Provides written pass downs to facilitate efficient transition between shifts.
  5. Collects test and process characterization data.
  6. Executes process equipment qualifications, documenting results and recommendations.
  7. Collaborates with engineering to define document developed test/assembly processes.
  8. Will assist with associate training of testing and assembly processes and equipment as required.
              The responsibilities as defined are intended to serve as a general guideline for this position. Associates may be asked to perform additional tasks depending on strengths and capabilities.
              Required Experience
              1. Experience working in a process/product development environment and/or or direct hands-on experience with semiconductor or IC packaging equipment, and or test preferred.
              2. Familiarity with clean room floor operating protocols, equipment and processes.
              3. Testing, troubleshooting and maintaining of microelectronic device test equipment preferred.
              4. Knowledge of package design, microelectronics assembly practices and associated equipment desired.
              5. Experience working with fiber optics.
              6. Reading and interpreting test results.
              7. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (word, excel, ppt).
              Preferred Education
              1. Technical degree in related field.
              Training required
              1. On the job training as appropriate.
