Position Summary, Key Responsibilities and Qualifications
McCarthy Building Companies is hiring an experienced and qualified Senior Safety Manager to support construction projects in the Dallas area.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Monitor and communicate safety programs and efforts with on-site trade partners and McCarthy employees, ensuring safety is part of our culture and that all new hires have proper safety documents and information.
  • Fully manage Project Safety Managers and Project Safety Coordinators and position them for future success.
  • Implement business unit programs, initiatives, and visions over multiple projects.
  • Create and drive a collaborative, positive safety culture with all McCarthy employees, trade partners and owners.
  • Organize, develop and deliver specific training topics or programs that benefit the business unit.
  • Conduct documented safety and health inspections over multiple projects or a single large project.
  • Coordinate with Project Supervision so that necessary protective equipment and safety materials are utilized, adequate first aid materials are available and safety documents are posted on-site.
  • Investigate all injuries and review all accident reports, coordinating corrective measures with McCarthy employees and logging injuries/illnesses for OSHA purposes.
  • Coordinate and manage all injury cases with insurance carrier, McCarthy leadership and medical professionals.
  • Frequent interactions with clients, building relationships for mutually productive goals.
  • Minimize construction hazards and enforce safety policies utilizing the company's disciplinary policy.
  • Conduct/organize safety coordination meetings with all safety professionals monthly.
Skills & Qualifications
  • At least 5 years' experience managing the safety efforts during the construction of large commercial project.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and/or a single large project with large teams
  • Ability to manage self-perform construction activities.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
  • CHST or CSP preferred.
  • OSHA 500 preferred.
  • Ability to manage/administer safety orientations, oversee substance abuse program, investigate/report on injuries/illnesses/near misses and other to perform other various safety functions on-site.
  • Ability to work with all construction groups: management, owners, trades, and subcontractors.
  • Must have excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual (English - Spanish) preferred.
