Description:
Texas Biomed is searching for a Maintenance Mechanic in our Facilities department. The mechanic will assist the team performing routine maintenance work. You will utilize your skills to diagnose problems, repair/replace worn or defective parts on building systems, perform preventive maintenance on building systems, keep equipment clean and perform minor electrical and plumbing work and assist with minor remodeling work. The Role · Performs minor troubleshooting and repairs of light vehicle fleet and small trailers; takes vehicles to commercial garage for repair Our Ideal Candidate Required: · High school diploma or GED required · One or more years of job specific experience to include building and electrical maintenance and vehicle mechanic work · Must have working knowledge of computers and be able to follow work routines, rules, procedures; able to operate power tools · Must have valid driver's license and meet Texas Biomed driving standards · Full time hourly schedule with possible rotating 24/7 on-call emergency service, weekends and holidays · Registered Maintenance Technician License is required by City of San Antonio (may be obtained during employment) Preferred: · Vocational training in any of the building or automotive trades · Maintenance Electrician's License What we can offer you Who We Are: Texas Biomedical Research Institute is one of the world's leading independent biomedical research institutions dedicated to advancing global human health through innovative biomedical research.
