Position: Supply Chain Intern – Service Equipment Product Management
Location: Headquarters – Moon Township, PA

Hours of work: Full-time position with hours generally Monday through Friday 9AM-5PM

Overview

Our internship program provides real-world experience enabling future professionals the ability to apply what they are learning in school, to applicable situations in a career field they are pursuing. This internship program helps interns gain additional skills that can be applied to future jobs.

The Supply Chain Inter requires a Continuous Improvement effort defining standard operating procedures, preparation of reports and calculations specific to supporting the production, maintenance, and inventory management of Calgon Carbon’s service equipment product line. A varied backlog of product management and ancillary work will be managed by the employee as prioritized by the supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Gain a basic understanding of Calgon Carbon’s service equipment product line, with respect to liquid and vapor phase units.
  • Develop service equipment routine maintenance/refurbishment schedule for existing long term service contracts.
  • Develop spare parts management system at each plant – identify parts, set inventory, designate storage location, systematically set up.
  • Develop safety stocks per equipment type, at each plant location, based on current utilization rates and projected business.
  • Develop tracking system identifying pending purchase orders and forecasted returns per equipment type for sales force to update at a determined frequency to provide to plants.
  • Evaluate & optimize service equipment order fulfillment process across the departments involved – Customer Service, Service Equipment Planner, Carbon Planner, Sales, etc. Roll out improved process via newly developed SOP to all parties.

  • Interns should be self-sufficient, self-motivated, and capable of multi-tasking.

Relevant Fields of Study - Working towards a bachelor’s degree in:

  • Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or Engineering program.
