Opportunity:


TAYS is seeking an experienced Senior .NET Developer to join our dynamic team! This role will be responsible for developing customer code solutions focused on transitioning ColdFusion application to an API-centric modern language back-end, such as C# and an Angular/Typescript front-end. You will be expected to function effectively throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle. This role will contribute to various projects within a federal agency. This position is based in Woodlawn, MD, and requires an experienced multi-tasker with robust analytical, problem-solving, communication and people skills.


This position is a permanent, W2 position and will consist of a hybrid schedule. Must be located within 2 hours of Woodlawn, MD.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Architect, design, code, and implement next-generation web applications using software engineering best practices in the latest technologies
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining high-performing .NET applications.
  • Using software development best practices and coding standards (i.e. software reuse, refactoring, continuous integration, test automation, secure development, Test Driven Development, static code analysis, peer/code review)
  • Demonstrating ability to take part in data analysis, data manipulation, database design, programming, and implementation

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

Foundation for Success (Basic Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field
  • A master's or Doctorate degree may substitute for the required experience
  • 7+ years of experience with developing and maintaining the high-performing .NET applications
  • 4+ years of using Microsoft Visual Studio, Azure, and Web Services / Web API (SOAP, REST, OAuth2)
  • Knowledge of ColdFusion

Factors to Help You Shine (Required Skills):

  • Strong C# development experience
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the .NET framework
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Experience with Web Services / Web API (SOAP, REST, OAuth2)
  • Experience with Angular an Typescript
  • Strong knowledge of Relational Databases
  • Knowledge of Entity Framework and SQL
  • Unit Test Frameworks (nUnit / xUnit)
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented programming concepts
  • Experience with Agile development practices
  • Architect, design, code, and implement WebAPI back end using software engineering best practices in the latest technologies:
  • C# / .NET 6.0 / ASP.NET
  • SQL / Entity Frameworks
  • SOAP / REST / OAuth2
  • Investigate and repair application defects regardless of component: business logic, middleware, or database (Postgres, SQL Server and DB2).
  • Author and review requirements and user stories, track progress, and provide status updates in a timely manner
  • Brief management, customer, team, or vendors using written or oral skills at an appropriate technical level for the audience
  • Mentor interns and employees as needed
  • All other duties as assigned or directed

EDUCATION:

  • Master's degree and 5+ years of experience in a training-related field or bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience in a training-related field
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust
