We are seeking a Portfolio Associate at our downtown Cleveland, Ohio wealth management firm. This position will provide comprehensive entry-level investment portfolio support to the Private Client Group and their clients.


In this position you will:


Operations & Administration

  • Develop knowledge of and utilize Tamarac Advisor View/Rebalancer, Addepar and other software systems to analyze and manage client portfolios
  • Review and assist in maintaining client databases and investment policy information to uphold data integrity
  • Develop intermediate knowledge of clients through reading internal CRM notes, studying client files, and collaborating with team members
  • Organize and tracks client assignments to efficiently manage workload
  • Assist with audit of client investment reports for accuracy and crafts impactful deliverables
  • Use internal systems to manage work efforts and communicates effectively to drive consistent and professional client experiences
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Portfolio Project Management

  • Be responsible for investment portfolio construction, implementation of strategy, proactive portfolio oversight and centralized trading while maintaining the Clearstead Investment Philosophy
  • Create firm level investment analysis or modeling to support sophisticated investment clients
  • Organize and evaluate prospect investment data, contribute to the design of investment portfolio proposals, and collaborate with team members in a positive and passionate manner to win new business
  • Have interest and general knowledge of capital market dynamics and economic landscape, portfolio theory, market history and trends, and appreciation of individual investor behavioral traits
  • Participate in Investment Research Committee meetings
  • Regularly communicate with Research Department on investment strategy

Client Service

  • Communicate portfolio updates to assigned clients as needed and directed by Managing Directors
  • Attend client meetings when requested by Managing Directors
Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • 1-3 years of investment and financial market experience within a professional services firm; experience within a financial services or wealth advisory firm a plus
  • Strong interest in investments
  • General familiarity with market history and trends
  • Ability to work under pressure, organize and manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment where time management, attention to detail, follow-through and meeting deadlines are critical
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Strong computer proficiency (e.g. Power Point, Word, Excel, Adobe and Outlook)
  • Demonstrated client service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong team player with the ability to interact with staff at all levels of the organization
