The Sanitarian is responsible for ensuring that the plant is maintained in a sanitary manner and assisting with any needed sanitation duties. This position will be on the 1st shift, 7 am - 3:30 pm and will work overtime as needed. This individual will work one weekend every 3rd week, rotating with team members.

SANITARIAN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform sanitation of all areas as required per the Master Sanitation Schedule(s) and/or as required as-necessary to maintain sanitation standards - to include interior and exteriors of all areas.
  • Promote a work safety environment through knowledge of sanitation programs and commitment to a safe workplace for all.
  • Ensure food safety and food defense in all plants.
  • Ensure all procedures and documentation requirements are completed as required.
  • Create, review and/or adjust all cleaning procedures and/or systems to be most effective and to improve quality and food safety performances overall.
  • Manage and maintain supply of cleaning supplies and chemicals necessary for operation of cleaning program and in compliance with OSHA and FDA.
  • Communicate any structural or mechanical deviations that would lead to any negative sanitation or pest control results.

SANITARIAN QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Safety training is required and provided by the company in group settings, as well as individual computer-based training.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Available to work flexible hours, evenings, weekends, and shift work may be required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This position requires physical efforts such as straining, pulling, lifting, working, and standing and walking on concrete floor.
  • Exposure to elements such as noise, minable dust, cold and hot temperatures.
  • Extreme climate or climate variation
  • Heat up to 100 degrees and low to 40 degrees.
  • Changes of >30 degrees within a shift
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment hazards, especially forklifts.
  • Climbing of ladders.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
